Explosive offense leads the way against Marshall in the season opener. Senior QB Jason Stewart passed for two TDs (to Wess Scott and Justin Dill); Juniors Steve Lynch and Anthony Wilson rushed for TDs and Senior Hashan Sesay electrified the crowd with a long kick-off return for another. The Hawks got a tough break late in the second quarter when Scott Knudson was ruled out of bounce after hauling in an apparent TD. Good job by the Hawks offensive line. Defensively, Hayfield had their hands full against Marshall's offensive line and running game but improved their play in the last two quarters of the game.
