Westfield's defense stymies Hayfield.

Bulldogs experience, size and depth wears down Hayfield. Hawks fail to capitalize on early Westfields mistakes. Secondary lapses and big plays brings our Hawks down to earth.

(Above L. to R.) Hustling Junior LB Paolo D'Oliveria (#44), was once again all over the field and a bright spot for the Hawks defense. Sophomores Anton McCallum (#1) and Rashad Westbrook (#5) and the Hawks offense faced a tough and agile Bulldogs defense. Westbrook's helmet is jarred loose after a short gain. Senior offensive and defensive lineman Kyle Cotton (#66). Hayfield defenders Junior Nathan Joyce (#23), Laurent Newsome (#71) and D'Oliveria force the Bulldogs fine QB out of the pocket. (Comment: Kudos to Newsome for a fine performance on the defensive line. Additionally, Laurent has taken over the punting and kick-off responsibilities for the Hawks.)  In a driving rain, John Hickson (#4) fields a punt and looks for some blocks before turning up-field.  The game was marred by an inordinate amount of penalties on both sides. McCallum and the Hawks offense could not solve the Bulldogs defense. Senior Co-Captain and LB Mike Broome (#7) had another fine defensive effort.
