At Lake Braddock Hawks are badly bruised by Bruins, 63-14!
Hayfield's battered defense took the field minus three starters, including their two leading tacklers. The unrelenting and motivated Bruins quickly pounced and shredded the undermanned Hawks defense led by their phenomenal QB, arguably the best player Hayfield has faced all season. The young man has skill, speed and is very physical providing Lake Braddock a tremendous edge. The Hawks offense played well in spurts, particularly the offensive line. Sophomore QB Anton McCallum rushed for close to 100 yards, passed for another 120 eclipsing the thousand yard threshold for the year and scored one rushing TD. Senior Mike Broome scored one of the Hawks touchdowns. A big pat on the back to Senior Collins Asomaning (#11); playing injured in the first half, Collins left it all out on the field. We also would like to recognize the players who played both ways for the Hawks this season, Collins being one of them.
Soph Rashaud Westbrook looks down field before securing a pass in the Hawks first possession. At times, Hayfield's offensive line played well during the game. LB's outstanding QB finds yet another gaping hole in the Hawks defense. Hawks Soph QB Anton McCallum (#1) follows fellow class-mate Nazril Islam (#26) for a good gain and a first down.
