Hayfield's Defense Shuts Down Warriors - Hawks Prevail, 12-0!

(page being updated)

Hawks controlled the game on both sides of the ball.  Offense moves the ball between the twenty yard lines but is unable to capitalize on good field position.

Junior LB Paola D'Oliveria led Hayfield's defensive effort with 12 tackles (six of them for a loss) and had one interception. Kudos to Mike Broome (#11), Kyle Cotton (#66) and Collins Asomaning (#11) for their defensive effort. Asomaning missed the first game of the year due to an injury.

On offense, junior center Taylor Kewer (right on photo) played a key role in helping the Hawks move the chains all evening long.  Kewer's long snapping ability is a plus for the Hawks. Offensive line takes a break under very humid conditions (Pat on the back to Ben Huber #64 for his play).

(L. to R.) A Warriors return man is down after taking a huge hit by the coverage team. Senior Sean Johnson (#2) had five receptions  (for 60 yards) including one for a TD.  An apparent beautiful reception for a TD before the end of the half by Johnson, was disallowed as one official over-ruled the other.  Tough, tough break for Sean and the Hawks.   Hayfield's defense played well and will be severely tested next week. Corey Mack (#75) has been solid in the trenches for the Hawks. D'Oliveria (#44) closes in on the Warriors QB. Sophomore QB Anton McCallun (#1) looks down field for a receiver.
