Excellent effort by our Hawks on both sides of the ball against visiting Marshall!

Second set - Senior Rayshawn Rigans (#8) returns a punt for 68 yards and TD, electrifying the Hayfield faithful. Soph. RB Steve Lynch (#7) gets collared after getting a Hawks first down. McCallum's intensity is clearly shown here. Soph. Craig Luskey (#20) and Jr. Donnie Hamilton (#43) smother a Statesmen running back. (Above) First two photos - Senior DE Timmy Klintsevich (#81) chases down the Statesmen's QB in first quarter action. Its a fumble! DT Marshall Evan (#85) closes in on the QB. Evans was one of the key contributors to the Hawks defensive effort on the evening.Soph. LB Steve Lynch (#7) stuffs a Statesmen's ball carrier on fourth and short. Jr. DL Donnie Hamilton (#43) helps bring down a Marshall ball-carrier. Rigans is brought down after a nice gain after a pass reception. Jr. DL Ryan Murphy (#57) was solid for the Hawks in the trenches. Kudos to the Hawks offensive line for a fine effort on the evening. Good effort by Soph. LB Anthony Wilson (#14 - behind Marshall Evans on this play) stepping up his play in the absence of standout Jr. LB Justin Marshall. Freshman DB Wesley Scott (#4) returns a punt for a good gain. Hawks Ball-Boy in action! Wilson (#14) and Sr. Co-Captain Carson Giammaria (#32) combine to bring down a ball-carrier. The left side of the Hawks O' line was sharp on this play. Senior offensive lineman, Alex Merino (#59). Senior FB Fabian Fells (#24) pounds the line. Junior LB Cameron Montgomery (#42) is in excellent position to make a stop.
Notes: Hawks offense churned out close to 400 yards on offense. Leading rushers: Rigans 124 yds on four carries and Lynch 109 yds on nine carries. On defense Soph. Anthony Wilson had nine tackles, followed by Marshall Evans with seven and Soph. LB Craig Luskey added seven. The Statesmen fumbled the ball five times but recovered each time. Hayfield lost two fumbles.
