On Thursday December 4th, the Hawks headed out to avoid the weather and begin their season against a tough group of Pennsylvania teams at the annual Carlisle Wrestling Tournament. Several of the Hawks learned a tough lesson as the team went 8-6 in the quarterfinal round:

On December 13 the Hawks traveled to Hanover for their first in-state competition POOLS: A B Hayfield Cox Tallwood Lee-Davis Grundy Kellam Hanover Garfield Bullis Stonewall Jackson
In the first round the Hawks drew Tallwood, ranked 6th in the state in AAA. Several key match ups included Jason Holsclaw against Douglas ranked 2nd in the State at 130, John Villanueva up from 152 to wrestling Bryan Wells ranked 1st in the state at 160 and Mike Maternick going against Weimer ranked #1 at 171. A few unexpected pins and a couple breaks for Tallwood cost Hayfield in a match they should have won.

On Wednesday 17 December, the Hawks traveled to Warren County High School to face the Mansutten Matmen currently ranked as the number 5 team in division AA.
Some key matches would include Chris Hummer at 103 going against undefeated Freshman Trey Kirkland at 7-0, and Jonahan Romero facing off against Evan Hawes currently ranked # 5 in AA at 125. Art Fournier versus Davey Simmons at 160 and Mike Maternick trying to stop Dylan McGravey at 171, both in the top five in AA.
